I bought three of these units to use in our worship services. They work very well and are very visually appealing. There are also plenty of connection options. So far so good...

It's very good TV

The energy saving features are very nice. The 1080p movies are just plain perfect. I can't keep my eyes of it - it's just too hard not to.

What's great about it:?HDMI inputs, swivels, elegant and the color contrast is awesome
What's not so great:?nothing yet, crossing fingers
"Several years back I purchased a Mitsubishi DLP and it sufficed for the price and current usage, at the time. However, it began to have lines across the picture. Thank goodness for the extended warranty. Best Buy was kind enough to pro-rate the television and I purchased the Samsung 58 inch Plasma. What an awesome television. The picture quality is next to none and I have researched tones of televisions of all brands and versions(LCD, Plasma and DLP). This TV not only looks slick but the HD quality is mind blowing. Hook-up was easy and BestBuy removed the old Mitsubishi. In all...the service was great, the picture is crisp and the sound is good. I have it connected to a Harmon Kardon receiver/amplifier so that says everything for the surround sound. If you are looking for a TV this is the ONE!!! especially for BlueRay (PS3).

Pros: Newegg's delivery service called to tell me it was ready and out for delivery drop-off the day after I purchased it.The quality of the TV is amazing.. especially for a 58" at this price.Sound on the tv is good.Very cool featuresLooks great mounted on the wall with ToC
Cons: I'm really picky when it comes to tv's I notice small pixelation where there is Black text on a light background.. Not everyone will notice it, but same can be noticed in very fast action scenes.. better than LCD ghosting by far and less bothersome.. But i stated it as a con because it should be taken into consideration if you care a lot bout these kinda things.
Other Thoughts: The max brightness of the TV is of course the best looking picture.. Hopefully it doesn't dim.

Excellent picture. I like to adjust what the cable company is sending out both in picture quality & size. This is easy for me. My wife doesn't want to bother so she is satisfied with most pictures. HD is best and I find that the 16 x 9 is the sharpest picture, but the full view is better than my Sony 55 LCD was.

If you can find one, go for it. The 2009 models are out and replacing this one.

Sports and movies never looked better.

This TV is superb for all viewing. Sports and Movies especially are dynamite experiences.

I love this tv, I have a smaller room about 12x12, but this tv is not too big, it's perfect. I read on one review that it generates too much heat, but I don't really see it as significant at all.Very good television, picture is incredible.[...]

AMAZING PRICE & PICTURE!!

All in all this is an excellent television. Blu-ray movies are absolutely beautiful, and standard DVDs upscaled by my PS3 don't look bad either. HDMI cables provide a noticeably better picture than any other input. The only thing that doesn't look so good on this TV are SD TV channels. These tend to be very grainy. In terms of calibration, you really don't need to spend $400 to have someone calibrate the TV to make it look good. Just play around with the settings until you get it the way you want it. <br /><br />As mentioned in the title, burn-in is problematic on this television. Do not leave any menu screen on the television for more than a couple minutes. Make sure that if you do get artifacts on the screen that you use the scrolling anti burn-in tool. This has saved me a couple of times already. Also, make sure to utilize the pixel shift function, and remember to turn the brightness and contrast down if you ever play video games where you have a still image in the corner of the screen. <br /><br />My only other complaint is that the speakers that are built into the TV aren't very good. You will need a home theatre system to go with this TV. Even an inexpensive system will greatly improve the sound quality. The home theatre is a must have with this TV. <br /><br />All in all this TV is a great value. It has some small problems, but no TV is perfect. <br />

The Television is awsome. I also purchased the hdmi cables (6 foot at $9.50 each) and the tilt wall mount for $89.00 that holds up to 200 lbs.
<br />The white glove delivery was great. They brought it down to my basement, unpacked the TV hooked it up, made sure it was working, and took away the big box. I had originally purchase the 50" but returned it for the 58". Amazon had the guys pick up the 50" when they delivered the 58". I only had to pay $79 for the delivery for the 50" back to Amazon and of course the additional cost of the 58". Ive had the new 58" for a month and love it.

This is a replacement for my 52" LCD Samsung TV that was sold with the closing of my house. Both sets are excellent but the Plasma outshines it by leaps and bounds. The picture is excellent and the size is right on. It may be large for some, but after experiencing a 52" TV for 2 years I could not see myself buying a smaller set. Yes, it is as good as it gets. [...] The only regret I have was not checking with onecall.com prior to the seven day price guarantee. I could have received another $200.00 dollars back.

I have purchased three Panasonic plasmas and love them all, but this Samsung has the best picture quality I have ever seen. Bright, vibrant colors. You can't go wrong with either brand - pure quality.

I have read good and bad, but after alot of research i felt confident in purchaseing this unit from Amazon. This transaction was flawless, and went without a hitch. Purchased on a Saturday and it was sitting in my living room by friday. The delivery service (CEVA) called on Monday and gave me a delivery time of friday betewwn 9-2. It was out of the box and fired up by 9:30 Friday morning. Now about the TV. It is amazing, I am still learning and making adjustments. Long story short this is a great product. The only thing I could say as a "con" would be I guess I was a little decieved as there is some motion blur in high action scenarios that I thought would not be there because of the processor/technology of the unit. Overall excelent product.

After sitting on the fence and visiting big box retailers to view TV sets for ages, I settled on this plasma set.
<br />
<br />I am totally thrilled with the clarity of color on this set. I did some research on the net and found some calibration settings and used those to fine tune this unit and.......WOW!!!
<br />
<br />I don't believe I will ever watch a more beautiful picture on any other TV-----this set is absolutely stunning.
<br />
<br />Beware-----it is heavy. You will need 3 adults to move this TV correctly.
<br />
<br />Go ahead and purchase this TV now. You won't be sorry.

I am just an average TV user/watcher. I really look for quality over anything. I did a ton of research, looking, and comparing and this Samsung plasma is by far the very best. I believe that it out-performs a lot of the "high end" stuff. The picture in high-definition is crisp, flowing, and full of color. I would say that it is flawless! If I had to choose one thing that would have made it better, it would be the sound. Most people are going to connect it to a sound system anyway so it really doesn't matter! Good job Samsung, you created a piece of art!

We researched fairly heavily - both features of this set and the pricing - before buying. We are extremely happy with the product and the Amazon buying experience. <br /><br />The Samsung PN58A650: Phenomenal <br />It's gloriously big. This set replaced a 42" plasma ED set. The large format is breathtaking. <br />I was somewhat hesitant about the fact that this is Plasma as opposed to LCD. The colours and brightness of this set (A650) are awesome while presenting, of course, all the other benefits of Plasma. Now that it's up and running I realize that I definitely did not need to worry about Plasma. <br />It separated from its stand to hang on the wall very easily. Although not light, my wife and I hung it on the old set's existing wall rack easily (once I bought the extended bolts required by my existing wall rack components). <br />The USB picture display sounded gimmicky until I tried it. Very cool. It will be great for social gatherings. <br /><br />Buying at Amazon: The biggest surprise. <br />I was reluctant to buy this kind of thing online with no local retail representation. This was triggered by all the typical apprehensions. Through this experience, I have learned that my fears were ill founded. <br />Firstly, the set was delivered significantly ahead of schedule. (Friday versus the following Tuesday). <br />Secondly, the delivery service brought the set into the house, unpacked it. They voluntarily verified that all functions were operational prior to asking me to accept the delivery. Then they asked - again - if all was OK before leaving. <br />And, of course, no local store (specialty store, national chain, Big Box, or "Special Sales Event") pricing came even close. <br /><br />Amazon has now become my first choice for purchase of big ticket items. <br />

I purchased the 58" samsung Plasma on 2/26/09. I recieved it earlier then the given delivery date. I have no complaints at all. I researched LCD's and Plasma's for over 5 months. I looked at the sharpness of the Samsung compared to Sony Bravia. The sharpness is just as good for less money. Samsung has come a long way don't sleep on them. I'm looking now to replace the TV in my bed room with a Samsung. Picture is great, sound is great. It's user friendly. I read comments about a pinkness in the picture. That the whites are not that bright. I dont see that problem on my tv. This is my first plasma tv I read that these tv's get real hot. I have my plasma on almost all day on the weekends. It gets a little warm, not hot at all. Great buy and Amazon has the best price and service. 5 stars baby. Big MG from Brooklyn,New York.

Great price through OneCall -- saved over $700 versus retail stores. TV arrived in perfect condition. It's heavy though -- you'll need assistance mounting, etc.

We received our Samsung pn58a650 plasma tv 4 weeks ago. Have not experienced any problems so far and have been quite satisfied with its performance. The h-d channels delivered by Comcast cable service are outstanding although the std definition side of the tv is a little grainy. At times the stretch function does distort the image on std definition but nothing too drastic. Overall this tv has the best picture quality I have ever seen especially for a tv this size. Have not experienced any issues with glare even though it is mounted in very bright room.
<br />The purchasing experience through amazon.com was excellent.
